Book of Toons, Thrice
Don't Judge This Book by Its Cover
This is the third installment in the Book of Toons trilogy.
Gary uses traditional methods of drawing, starting with pencil and then ink for the basic outline. The cartoon is scanned into a computer, where it is colored and shaded and often backlit. For some of the panels, a mixed-media technique is used with cartoons and real photos for a unique look in backgrounds, and to emphasize certain objects.
Since antiquity, artists have been experimenting with mixed media and Gary is creating his own personal twist on this art form. This is presented to the viewer before even opening the books, with the first book having a photo of earth on the cover and the second book having a photo of the moon. Also distant galaxies and nebulae courtesy of Hubble.
Book of Toons:
A Farcical Interpretation of Existence
Ever wonder what it would be like to be inside the brain of a ridiculous cartoonist? Explore into subject matter like who is God? Why do things happen? What’s a molecule’s favorite game? What reality might be like in alternate universes? Poke fun at society’s attempt at making sense of existence. Along with some far out inventions and a few short stories, this book will bring out the reader’s inner silliness. With over 199 cartoons to stir the imagination, there’s something for all walks of life from astronaut to farmer to doctor or even if you’re just an average plank of wood.

Book Of Toons Too:
The Ludicrous Outcome Of A Series Of Flukes
Book of Toons Too is a continuation of the artist’s adventure in the universe of single-panel cartoons. Now in full color to truly experience all the details. If you’re 4 or 44, or even 104, there is sure to be something that amuses you. Silliness and bizzaro is a common theme in the artist’s take on existence. You never know what to expect next, with subject matter ranging from micro-realities to alternate universes and anything in between.
Check out “Book of Toons,” the first publication of this series with over 200 panels. Also stay tooned for more publications from Gary over the next several years. There are 3 books currently in development.
